Camino Santiago on foot: Logroño-Burgos

The Camino de Santiago through La Rioja does not have many kilometers, but the cities it runs through have a great meaning Jacobeo.

Camino Francés itinerary from Logroño (7 days-6 nights-5 stages)

Day 1: Arrival in Logroño. Accommodation.
Day 2: Logroño-Najera Stage (29.70 kms)
Difficulty: Medium Duration: 7h 30m

Breakfast and start of the stage.

Long stage, but flat, almost entirely. The abundance of land cultivated with vines will accompany us in a large part of the route.

The Park of the Grajera, with its reservoir, at the exit of Logroño, the ruins of the old Hospital of San Juan de Acre, at the entrance of Navarrete and Ventosa, are the main highlights of this stage.

We can not stop visiting the Monastery of Santa María la Real de Nájera.

Day 3: Najera-Santo Domingo de la Calzada Stage (21,90 kms)
Difficulty: Low Duration: 5h 30m

Completely flat stage that runs through wide dirt tracks, part by asphalt and close to cereal crops, and vineyard areas.

Azofra and Cirueña, are the main population centers, before reaching our destination, in Santo Domingo de la Calzada.

Day 4: Santo Domingo de la Calzada-Belorado Stage (22.97 kms)
Difficulty: Low Duration: 5h 45m

Stage very similar to the previous one, in which we will walk through tracks of compact earth, in many cases parallel to the road.

The localities of Grañón, Redecilla del Camino, in whose parish church there is a fabulous Romanesque baptismal font, and Viloria de Rioja, are the main towns that we will find until the arrival in Belorado.

Day 5: Belorado-San Juan de Ortega Stage (24.29 kms)
Difficulty: Medium Duration: 6h 30m

Stage similar to the previous ones, in the first part of the Camino, until the arrival to Villafranca de Montes de Oca, from where we will begin the ascent and passage of the mythical Montes de Oca, indicated in many ancient Jacobean texts, being the most interesting part of this whole stage.

Tosantos, and the aforementioned Villafranca de Montes de Oca, are the main population centers of the stage.

It is essential to visit the Monastery of San Juan de Ortega, in whose interior, the Capital of the Annunciation.

Day 6: Stage San Juan de Ortega-Burgos (26.40 kms)
Difficulty: Low Duration: 7h

Breakfast and start of the stage.

Pleasant stage in its first part, passing through quiet areas of páramo and roads and roads very little traveled, until you reach the gates of Burgos, Villafria, where we enter, through its industrial estate.

Agés and Atapuerca, are the main population centers until our end of the stage, in Burgos
