The Camino de Santiago from Gijón begins with its magnificent San Lorenzo Beach and runs, to a large extent, parallel to the Cantabrian Sea, dotted with beautiful coastal towns such as Pitu (Cudillero), Navia, Luarca, Tapia de Casariego and, with an end spectacular in Ribadeo, overlooking the river that gives its name to the town. Itinerary Camino de Santiago del Norte from Gijón (9 days-8 nights- 7 stages)

Day 1: Arrival in Gijón. Accommodation.
Day 2: Gijón-Avilés Stage (24,6 kms)
Difficulty: Medium Duration: 6h

Breakfast and start of the first stage of our Camino de Santiago from Gijón.

Stage that covers industrial areas, with enough asphalt. The only difficulty of the stage will be the climb to Monte Areo (Technological and Industrial Park)

The stage passes through the towns of Pavierno-Santa Eulalia (Carreño) –Zancornio – Tabaza – Trasona, before arriving in Aviles.

We highlight in the stage, the Church of Santa Eulalia, in Carreño and the Old Town of Avilés.

Day 3: Avilés – El Pitu Stage (26,9 kms)
Difficulty: Medium Duration: 6h 30m

Breakfast and start of the stage.

Stage that passes with a stretch of quite asphalt and constant unevenness, up and down. Areas of eucalyptus forests and the passage of the Nalón River, will meet us on the route.

La cultural jewel of the stage is the Castillo de San Martin, in Soto del Barco, Palacio de Valdecarzana and Vallehermoso, in Muros de Nalon.

In the Pitu, we highlight the Selgas Palace and the Church of Jesús de Nazareno.

A must visit to Cudillero, which is 1,5 km away, considered one of the most beautiful towns in Spain.

Day 4: Stage El Pitu- Soto de Luiña (10,5 kms)
Difficulty: Easy Duration: 2h 30m

Breakfast and start of the stage.

Short stage. Eminently rural area with frequent slopes, walking through areas very close to the N-632 and the A-8.

In Soto de Luiña, the most significant monument is the Church of Santa María.

Day 5: Soto stage of Luiña-Cadavedo (22 Kms)
Difficulty: Easy Duration: 5h 30m

Stage in which we leave the main population centers behind and we will walk very close to the N-632, through the CAmino Real de las Ballotas, very close to the coast, which makes it a stage of great beauty, due to its proximity to the sea and numerous small beaches, with constant descents and ascents.

We highlight the Playa del Silencio, between Ballota and Tablizo, as well as the Hermitage of Regalina, near Cadavedo, as the most interesting places to visit.

Day 6: Cadavedo – Luarca Stage (15,94 km)
Difficulty: Easy Duration: 4h

Breakfast and start of the stage.

We will notice a contrast between the middle coastal mountain and the valleys near the Marina, with the typical towns of this area of ​​Asturias. The small difficulties of this stage will be the ascent in Canero and the ascent to the Mirador de la Atalaya in Luarca.

The most significant of the stage is presented in the splendid town of Luarca, with its viewpoints, the fishing port, the Lighthouse, Cemetery (one of the most beautiful in Spain, for its location facing the sea), as well as numerous houses of Indians

Day 7: Stage Luarca-A Charity (29 Kms)
Difficulty: Medium Duration: 7h 15m

Stage that passes through the Western Navy, with the Navia estuary, as the main focus of attraction. We will walk very close, or by the same N-634 in numerous Kms, with gentle slopes. Zone that already marks us, definitely, the Galician infusion in Asturias, due to its proximity.

The most significant monuments to be found at this stage are: Palacio de los Campo Osorio in Piñera. In Navia: the Hermitage of San Roque, Medieval Wall and Casonas de indianos. In Cartavio, the Parish Church of Santa María (XNUMXth century)

Arrival to Charity. End of the stage

Day 8: Stage A Charity-Ribadeo (21,5 Kms)
Difficulty: Easy Duration: 5h 15m

Breakfast and start of the stage.

The official tour presents a very comfortable stage, away from population centers, or take the option, by an alternative route, to approach the coast and visit the beautiful town of Tapia de Casariego. In both cases, we will enter Ribadeo, crossing the Puente de los Santos, which crosses the Eo estuary, giving its name to the beautiful city.

In Ribadeo, in addition to the beautiful views of the estuary, with Castropol and Vegadeo on the other side of it and, if we have time, we should not miss a visit to Playa de las Catedrales, 10 km from the city.
