Santiago de Compostela, capital of the Community of Galicia, is the most visited city in Galicia, in part, because it is the final destination of pilgrims who make some route of the Camino de Santiago organized<\/a> to visit the tomb of the Apostle Santiago, found inside its splendid Cathedral and for the enormous religious, cultural and gastronomic appeal that the city offers us.<\/p>\n

This entails the need to meet the great demand that exists for parking for the private vehicles of people who have come to the city in this means of transport.<\/p>\n

OPTIONS TO PARK IN SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA<\/span><\/h2>\n

There are different parking \/ parking possibilities in the city of Santiago and that may vary, depending on the time spent in the city, among other reasons, to use one or another option.<\/p>\n

If you are going to spend the night in one of our accommodations in Santiago<\/strong> and it has parking, for convenience, it would be the main option to value, although the rate is usually a little higher than in other types of parking.<\/p>\n

In the event that the accommodation does not have parking, most of them tend to have agreed special rates, in parking lots close to them, for their clients.<\/p>\n

As in all cities, there are regulated parking areas in the city center. In these areas you can park by paying for the time we are going to park the vehicle, using payment machines located in the vicinity for this purpose.If you are going to do the Camino it is not the most appropriate option, since you would have to be aware to recharge via mobile and is more expensive.<\/p>\n

FREE SANTIAGO PARKING<\/span><\/h3>\n

If we do not want to pay for parking, we have the option of leaving the vehicle parked in areas further away from the Center, as in residential neighborhoods<\/strong>, such as Fonti\u00f1as, Salgueiri\u00f1os, Las Cancelas and San L\u00e1zaro (about 20\/25 minutes walk from the center of Santiago)<\/p>\n

Likewise, one of the best areas to park the vehicle is located in the vicinity of the University Clinical Hospital<\/strong>, which is monitored and is free, but you will have to be patient as it is usually in high demand, and is quite chaotic.<\/p>\n

Another option of free parking, of interest, is the car park of the University City of Santiago<\/strong>, which offers us free from Saturday at 14:00 p.m. to Monday, in addition to holidays.<\/p>\n

Both the C\u00ednico Hospital car park and the University car park are approximately 25 minutes walk from the Historic Quarter of Santiago.<\/p>\n
