We plan this route of the Camino de Santiago from Porto by bicycle for people who travel alone, as well as for groups of friends and / or family. And we adapt the kilometers of the stages according to your needs.


Day 1: Arrival in Porto. Accommodation.
Day 2.- Stage Porto - Barcelos (52 Kms)
Difficulty: Easy

Breakfast and start of the first stage of our Camino de Santiago from Porto by bicycle.

To leave the city of Porto we will put a vehicle that will take you to Vilar do Pinheiro, in order to avoid traffic and the danger of rolling through its streets.

Asphalt and cobbled areas will accompany us throughout the stage, marked out by cultivation areas and trees typical of this area of ​​Portugal.

Once in the town of Arcos, we will travel the first kilometers in a moderate ascent through agricultural tracks, with cornfields and vineyards. We continue pedaling on asphalt tracks and some cobbled areas. After Pedra Furada, we begin the descent towards Barcelinhos and the beautiful Barcelos, where we enter through its medieval bridge.

Day 3: Stage Barcelos - Tui (74 Kms)
Difficulty: High

Breakfast and start of the stage.

We will ride through mainly paved areas and agricultural land until we reach Ponte das Taboas (XNUMXth century), one of the most significant places in this part of the Camino de Santiago from Porto by bicycle, before reaching Balugaes.

From Balugaes we will pedal, steeply ascending secondary roads, to Alto da Albergaria. We continue downhill to Ponte de Lima, one of the most beautiful cities in northern Portugal and the oldest on the Camino de Santiago from Porto by bicycle.

This time we ascend to Alto de Portela, and subsequent descent to the town of Rubiaes

In an orography of constant ups and downs, Alto de Portela and Rubiaes will be the next challenges on the route. We will cross, in this part of the Camino, some sections of an old Roman road, dotted with numerous bridges.

Through the Portuguese town of Valenca do Minho, we enter Spain crossing the international bridge designed under the influence of the French engineer Eifffel.

Day 4: Stage Tui - Pontevedra (52 Kms)
Difficulty: Easy

Breakfast and start of the stage.

We begin this stage through the spectacular old town of Tui. We may have visited, among other monuments, the splendid Cathedral of Santa María de Tui and the Church of San Telmo.

The route crosses paths and paths, through wide wooded areas, and numerous waterways. We will cross the Ponte da Veiga, over the Louro river, one of the most characteristic of the route. On the way to Redondela, we will visit the Pazo de Mos, Cruceiro Os Cabaleiros and the Chapel of Santiaguiño.

From Redondela, the route offers us views of intense green areas and magnificent views over the Vigo estuary.

We will pass through Arcade, with its world-famous oysters, as well as Ponte Sampaio, famous for having held a battle against French troops, which meant the withdrawal of Marshal Ney's troops from Galician lands. Once we have reached the Santa Marta chapel, we turn off along the river walk of the Tomeza river. to enter Pontevedra.

Day 5: Pontevedra Stage - Santiago de Compostela (64 Kms)
Difficulty: Medium

Breakfast and start of the stage.

After having visited Pontevedra, with its historical center of great monumental value, as well as its many squares, this stage immerses us again in the most rural Galicia, with numerous small villages and isolated houses surrounded by areas of abundant vegetation.

We will travel through small roads and paths, to Caldas de Rei, famous for being a first-rate thermal town, and where if the pilgrim wishes, they can enjoy its thermal waters.

From Caldas de Rei, we go to Padrón, in a short and comfortable route. We continue through Galicia without great difficulties, with a terrain that invites us to relaxation and meditation.

Small population centers, numerous crosses will appear on our way, mixed with that placid silence that has been with us since we started our Camino in Porto.

After Padrón and Iria Flavia, places of great Jacobean evocation- according to legend, here the boat with the remains of the Apostle, coming from Palestine, ran aground in a “Pedrón” -, which is preserved in the cathedral of said city, we headed at the end of our Camino, in Santiago de Compostela.
