The Camino de Santiago from Ribadeo It is the entry point of the Camino in Galicia, in what is called “Camino del Norte”, starting in the town of Irún. All the beauty of Galicia, with lush forests, corridors, Rural Houses and numerous rivers and streams will mark our route to Santiago.
In this part of the Northern Way, as points of special significance, we will visit the Monasteries of San Salvador de Lourenzá, Sobrado dos Monxes and the municipality of Vilalba.
In Arzúa, the Camino del Norte joins the French Way, for a single itinerary, ending in Santiago, our long-awaited destination.

In Ribadeo, the Torre de los Moreno is undoubtedly the most relevant monument in the Galician municipality of Ribadeo and one of the most emblematic buildings. It is located right next to the Pazo de Ibañez.

In Lourenzá, the Monastery of San Salvadora stands out, dating from the XNUMXth century.
In Mondoñedo the Cathedral presents different architectural styles in its appearance. The interior is divided into three naves, where the most remarkable are the main altarpiece and the XNUMXth century frescoes that adorn it. On its main façade, the western one, we can admire an impressive Gothic-style rose window and the two towers that flank it in Baroque style.
Fonte Vella: located in front of the Episcopal Palace. It was ordered to be built by Diego de Soto in 1548.

In Villalba we can find the characteristic tower, which was part of the Old Castle of the Andrade, which is believed to have been raised during the XNUMXth century. The tower has a curious hexagonal shape and is made up of granite masonry, slate and ashlar masonry in the corners.
Church of Santa María: from its head a semicircular dome is followed by two walls that support six strong buttresses, covered, respectively, with oven and half-barrel arches. The tower was attached to the wall that closes the nave.
In Baamonde the Church of Santiago, whose construction dates back to the XNUMXth century and is characterized by its Romanesque style in which its simple side portal stands out as the Calvary located in its atrium. Its green access door of small dimensions and singular beauty due to its simplicity and elegance also stands out.
In Miraz the Casa Torre de los Saavedra: old fortress of the XV century, belonging to the house of the Saavedra.

In Sobrado dos Monxes is located El Monastery of Santa María de Sobrado dos Monxes, is one of the main monasteries of medieval origin in the province of A Coruña and throughout Galicia. It is believed that it dates from the XNUMXth century. It has undergone numerous reforms from the XNUMXth to the XNUMXth centuries. If they wish, they can attend one of the daily prayers with the monks.
In Arzúa, the Church of Santiago stands out, with the Magdalena Chapel.
